Good trip and group but rather poor smoky weather. We took about 8 hours car to car (or rather I did, and the others were polite enough to wait once in a while especially on descent). I prefer either small ball bearing sized scree that moves predictably or solid blocks that stay put. Unfortunately this mountain had too much of the "in-between" which moved unpredictably for my liking. But this Spirko route was much shorter than Kane's and apart from a bit of searching near the summit to find the best gully, route finding went quite smoothly. SC5 rating confirmed.

The weather was rather cool with minor snow flurries during lunch, but okay except for the smoke. We identified Mt Ptarmigan, but couldn't see any other peaks to argue about. To our surprise an original centennial register container was still intact and the book dry.
