We left the parking place west of Engadine lodge shortly after 9 in cool temperatures and a nice blue sky.After regrouping and a snack break at Smuts pass

we followed the trail to the high col and the start of the ridge proper

There is now a well beaten trail all the way to the summit and only the last part would merit the OT5 rating.

As expected views were very hazy but we still enjoyed a long rest on top

Another break was taken at the upper lake where one participant insisted in demostrating her swimming skills.


It doesn't get any more pastoral than this.

In the way back a moose was spotted in the boggy meadows

Unfortunately in the drive home one vehicle had some kind of trouble , Thanks God there were some mechanically inclined passengers.


Three heroes (Harold, Chip and Kevin) make some emergency repairs on our way home.
