When the dust settled from the road to and past the parking area the trailhead came into view. The walk in the forest was cool, a hint of moistness along the flowing creek, water that was picture perfect clear. cAs we advanced forward into the open wash a trail marker and cairn was spotted to guide us on our way into the steepness of the trail ahead. With a little quickening of the breathing and heartbeat, and a nice snack break we gained the Moraine area. Hiking here was easier, scenic and wonderful. Upon reaching a point close to the back of the canyon a nice lunch spot was found. Pictures taken and pondering done we decided to start on the descent. The valley was hotter now, more people on the trail. As we reached the cars to our surprise the dust was still in the air. I would like to thank all the participants, Krystyna, Aldis, Ginger, Harold & Gary for they made the day very wonderful. Lenard, coordinator.

A wonderful day at Old Goat Glacier.
