A beautiful day on a foothills staple hike. It was not too hot in the cool of the morning as we climbed up to the junction with the ridge trail. There was a bit of a wind there which helped keep the temperature very pleasant. There were only a few fluffy cumulus clouds so there were great views of the mountains to the west:

There were flowers to identify on the way as we moved along and made the peak before noon. It was windy enough there that we opted for the shelter of the trees:

One thing that is occuring this summer is Spray Lakes Logging is clearcutting some of the slopes part way up, we were serenaded with the drone of their mechanical tree stackers on the lower halfof the trail. Cutting has ocurred right up to the edge of the trail for a couple of hundred metres:
