To wait for a good weather report and stable avalanche conditions was definitely worth it. Avalanche Canada even invented a new symbol for spring snow conditions. I will make the report short and sweet. For a detailed route description please refer to the trip report from April 8, 2011, trip h152.
We had sunshine all day long and excellent snow for the run down. We started at the Stanley Glacier parking lot and had our first rest at an impressive canyon.

John considering an alternate route.

Jack and Chip broke the trail on the long slog up.

It is a long way up, but the view is superb.

Great powder snow in the shade.

I found the climb more strenuous than seven years ago. Luckily John G. made a gentler track, more suitable for seniors, for the steepest section to the col. We had a well deserved rest with superb views to the east and west.

Lunch with a nice view.

The sun had softened the snow in the crusty areas, and there was good powder snow in the shady sections.

Clifton in full flight.

Great fun making figure 8s.

The ice of the  waterfall through the cliff band was well covered and made for a good run down.

Good skiing down the waterfall.

Thank you Chip and John, for the photos.
Thank you Jack, John, John, Chip, Clifton for joining me Manfred on this last trip of the season.
