Given the frigid temperatures, we hung out for a short while in the toasty Discovery Centre until it warmed to -24C before venturing onto the trackset trails. With a little warmth from the sun under an absolutely clear sky and no wind, it was surprisingly pleasant. The tracksetting crew had done a great job on all the trails we skied: green special and polar waxes worked well. We had thought we might be returning back to the Centre for lunch but it was warm enough to dine outside at the picnic table in the sun at the top of Packers. The silky smooth run down Pocaterra was a little cool with the speed-induced windchill but a stop in the sun at the bottom rewarmed us:

It felt warmer on our return to the Discovery Centre where the thermometer showed -13C.

Thanks to participants Barbara & Anne for joining me for a rewarding day on the trails. Ron C/S/P
p.s. Congrats to Anne for finishing the 31 km Birkebeiner last weekend.
Stats: 19km on Meadow-Wooley-Amos-Wheeler-Packers-Pocaterra-Lodgepole-Meadow.
