On the first avalanche path on the Healy Pass trail we crossed significant avalanche debris which had snapped a 10cm diameter tree. On the second path there was signs of some very recent avalanche debris in the upper bowl, With these indicators and knowing the creek route to Bourgeau meadows involves a terrain trap we took a safer route up through the trees after the Simspon pass junction. After leaving the Healy pass trail on this route we shared the work of breaking trail. Around tree line we stopped for a "rejuvenation break" around 12:30.

Rejuvenation break after breaking trail for David, Philip and Margaret.

We reached a small knoll overlooking the meadows and down Healy creek.

We skied a short run down from this knoll towards the creek often used as an approach.

Margaret and Philip - high point with patch of spruce what we skied down from

We did not ski in the alpine. The alpine looked very wind affected and there were obvious very large wind loaded slabs along the ridge. We returned back to the Healy pass trail more or less following our up track and in the upper glades there was some nice skiing.

Margaret in the upper glades we skied down back to Healy pass trail.

Thanks to Philip,David and Margaret for agreeing to the change in our route which may have limited our yoyo opportunities from a, possibly, over cautious coordinator John.. Special thanks to Philip for driving me and taking excellent care of my wallet!
