Another excellent flower hike in Kananaskis. It was warm at the start but once out of the trees there was a cooling breeze that made conditions very pleasant. We made good time to the summit although the usual suspects were delayed by their examination of the floral abundance. The views at the top were great:

There was one persistent visitor at lunch who was attracted by something in Madeleine's pack:

Golden mantled ground squirrel looking for food.

It was clear at our location but smoky in the distance to the south and we started to see smoke rising from behind the Elk Range. Fortunately it did not come in our direction. Then it was time to head down<

Mist Mountain provides a backdrop for Suzy, Misako and Mikako.

There was time for a few flower photos and a shady water break:

A few stopped for ice cream at Fortress and those who returned via the TransCanada got held up for 20 minutes in a traffic jam associated with all the people exiting the Springbank Air Show.

Thanks to everyone for a great day!  Participants: Ron C/S/P, Madeleine (post-hike watermelon - yum!), Carl, Yolande, Aldis, Kathy, John,Teresa (photos), Suzy, guest Misako, Mikako and Bill (photo).
