A very hot weekend for my third and again unsuccessful attempt at Mt Costigan. Walk in was very wet with the trail flooded in up to 20cms of water for several hundred metres in the Park.

With a 'minor' diversion we found the correct route up Costigan's south ridge and reached the summit ridge after some excitingly steep snow.

But the corniced ridge stopped us here.

12 hours return from LM22 lakeshore campsite.

Mount Peechee

The snow and fatigue deterred detailed investigation of Mt Saddle but it looks straight forward to the first 'false' summit. Returned via lots of fun watery trails on day 3 to the car. Another memorable trip. John, Sim c/s David.

Because we had so much fun in water, we 3 decided to attempt Kananaskis Peak (e332 genuine SC7) on Tuesday 01 July.

We managed this in 7 hours round trip but not before getting soaked by rain and brush on the easy creek return. So in the course of the 4 day weekend we got soaked from the feet up (by flooded trails and later by snow), inside (by sweat) and above (by rain). What fun!
