Minus 20 at Minnewanka Parkling Lot so there was a big scramble (at least on my part) to get boots and skis on and get going. Cascade fire road is track set but getting a bit ragged and worn in places. The downhill sections were very fast if you stayed in the tracks and the snow plowing was somewhat unstable due to the hard sections of trail. We regrouped a couple of times but not for long to avoid freezing. At lunch time (around 1) we reached the cabin and had lunch. The sun was out and it was beautiful at the cabin.
