It was kinda cool, but a spectacular day nevertheless. Even some nice turns in the meadows.
We set out from the Sunshine parking lot a little before 10. It was quite cool (around -18c) but it's not hard to stay warm on the trail. The skies were so clear that it was impossible not to be glad to be out.

At our "moderate Rambler pace" we made it up to Healy Pass around 1:00 and had lunch there. Luckily there was no wind.

You can see that we had quite an assortment of ski equipment.

While there wasn't much depth of snow, the skiing down the gentle slopes below Healy Pass was actually quite lovely.

The descent of the Healy Pass trail was a challenge for those of us on "skinnier" skis. The snow was quite nice, but this early in the season the trail isn't as wide as it is later.
We were back at the cars a little after 3.
