Evan Thomas waterfalls Off-Trail hike on 9-Mar-2021

We were delayed due to an accident in the Transcanada. Once everybody arrived we left at 10:30 in brilliant sunshine but cool temperatures. This is a very popular hike best avoided on weekends and there is a well beaten trail all the way to the Green Monster waterfall. At the 4.7 Km mark the canyon narrows and the trail climbs on the east bank of the creek. Following a mildly exposed ledge traverse with a cable attached to the rockface , once past this fun part the trail descends steeply back to the creek. Fixed ropes are a big help in this section. Shortly we arrived at the most spectacular waterfalls , the Rehab wall and the Green Monster. We had a quick lunch in a sunny spot by the trail before returning. Back at the early hour of 2 pm Rating : revised from OT5 to OT4. Activity time , revised from 5 to 3:30 hours.
Trip Distance:12 km Elevation Gain 174m (bottom to top), plus another 35m for the ups and downs.
