Prairie Mtn - West Ridge Loop Off-Trail hike on 23-Jun-2017
It was a fine day for a hike up the old reliable, Prairie Mtn. It was overcast much of the time and the high humidity made for a sweaty ascent up the front side. There were lots of flowers for a trip not known for them. All eventually made it to the top in 1hr.45 where there was time for a group photo:

Time for rain gear: Brenda (poncho), Alda, Aldis & our stray for the day from Red Deer, Crystal. This barely lasted long enough to get the rain gear damp, after which the sun made a brief appearance. It was uneventful to the junction with the Prairie Creek trail, where a bunch of the locals blocked the route:

Thanks to a great group for an enjoyable trip!
Participants: Ron C/S/P, Bill, Aldis, Madeleine, Brenda, David, Douglas, Aldis and ad hoc stray guest from Red Deer, Crystal.
