Brown-Lowery Park Trail hike on 3-Dec-2016

It was a good day to complete hiking in every month in 2016.  We selected Brown-Lowery Provincial Park, in the foothills on Plummer's Road west of Millarville, and found conditions still good for hiking--mostly bare ground with a dusting of snow here and there.  We walked a convoluted series of loops to hike about 8 k.m. and gain an amazing 900 feet of cumulative elevation.  This small provincial park contains all foothills forest types, from aspen to spruce to lodgepole pine.

We stopped at the scenic lookout at lunch time, but right on cue the Chinook wind came up and the Chinook cloud covered the sun.  It was about 3 degrees, but it was quite chilly in the wind, so we sought refuge in the trees just over the ridge.
