Jumpingpound Ridge from north Trail hike on 15-May-2016

Jumpingpound Mountain looked all white as we drove to the trailhead, so we knew we would be hiking in snow. After crossing the new bridge, we started up a mostly clear trail.  As we climbed, the trail became more snow covered until it was about 5 cm. deep at the Cox Hill junction. We were rewarded for our efforts by the magnificent views in all directions, including a very white Moose Mountain.

While stopping for a breather at the south end of the ridge, we could look back to enjoy the views to the north, and look ahead to see our destination.

It was breezy at the top so we found shelter for lunch just below the summit, where it  was comfortable enough for a 40 minute stop.

The 12 degree temperature gave us a slushy trip back down and we arrived at the cars to a warm (and green) summer like day.
