Baldy south peak GR 373520 via Baldy Pass Scramble on 25-Oct-2015
Is this a great fall for hiking, or what? We had clear skies and little or no wind… always a good thing on a narrow ridge walk for our 12 & ½ participants. It was a mite chilly at the beginning of the trip as the route was shady to Baldy Pass in near freezing temperatures. But the trail was bare and dry and the exertion of altitude gain kept us warm. Above the pass the trail is a little rougher, but everyone had no problem on the scramble bit:

Ginger climbs the short scramble on the South Baldy route It was warmer in the sun and the views were great as everyone made it to the summit which has a very large cairn. This was our lunch spot and where we met up with Bill who had come up and over Baldy to meet up with us for the descent.

Posing at the scramble section on the way down We had a rest stop at the pass, which ended as soon as the sun went behind Midnight Peak and the air temperature of only +6 became quite apparent.
