A great late fall scramble with a really nice group. I enjoyed the company of: David, Brian, Clifton, Susan, Inge and Ulrike .. no wind meant prolonged summit time ... great day.
Susan and Ulli took the steeper north chimney while the rest of us managed to squeeze up the south chimney of Mt. Edith North peak. No wind and warm temperature meant we spent quite a while on the summit admiring Inge's numerous ascents of Mount Louis across the Gargoyle valley from us. Inge had done an early ascent of the north east face of Mount Edith - impressive! Three or four other groups on the mountain with one group jumping the gap I had carefully climbed across to get to the true summit (there is a lot of air below this gap). With the beautiful warm weather it was not difficult to persuade the group to extend the trip to include the centre  peak. On the centre peak David and I took the north traverse / north gully while the rest followed Inge's better ridge route to the summit of the centre peak. There was a few skiffs of snow on the north facing gully for David and I and even though there was not much snow it increased the difficulty for us. Needless to say descending from the summit we followed Inge's dry ridge route. A couple of us thought we remembered a nice route down between the centre and south peaks. We did eventually pick up a descent trail but higher up we had to be careful with lots of loose rock.
Fabulous weather made for a great day. We were back at the cars just before 6:00 pm for a trip of a little over 9 hours with quite a bit of summit time! Thanks everyone especially for being careful on the descent route from John thanks also to Ulli and David for the photos.
