Harvey Pass and Lakes (above Bourgeau Lake) Trail Hike on 13-Jul-2013
It was a beautiful day to be above treeline. With the clear air we could see forever! Some flood damage to the upper trail but it is still in pretty good shape. Hikers have used flood debris to create one make-shift bridge (below the falls) and there were a few sections where rubble had come down and crossed the trail.
We made good time and reached the upper valley by 12:30. It was clouding over and there was a cool breeze so we decided to take shelter behind some trees and have lunch. After lunch we continued on to Harvey Pass and then explored beyond to the southwest.
Patches of old snow were taken advantage of for some quick descents. We were back at Bourgeau Lake by 2:30pm.
Thanks to Norman, Cornelis, Karen, Brenda, Kim and David for a great day in the mountains. David c/s/p.Photos below (also scroll down for two photos of Chester Lake trailhead taken July 14).
