Gusty Peak Scramble on 1-Oct-2012

There weren't many gusts up there today, the wind was a pretty steady 40-50 km/hr.
We set out from the car just after 9:30 and were under an an hour to Chester Lake. The next section up the valley between Chester/Fortress and Gusty was straight forward. The scramble route up Gusty has a lot of scree but that can be avoided some of the time and we were at the top around 1:00.

The descent was of course much easier and we searched out some nice scree (and some not so nice).

With no longer breaks we made great time and were back at the car just after 3:30.
It was overcast most of the day, but we could see many surrounding peaks except the 11,000ers which had their heads in the clouds.
Many thanks to John, and Ray for joining me, Carl (C/S).
