Peak NE of Gibbon Pass via Arnica Lake Off-Trail Hike on 11-Sep-2011

Three of us started out for Gibbon Pass on a sunny, warm morning first dropping down to Vista Lake and then starting the long climb up to Arnica Lake through the old burn and avalanche slopes.

We were a little surprised to see some healthy looking arnicas and fleabane on the pass just beyond Arnica Lake and then some larches just starting to turn as we climbed up the Gibbon Pass beyond the colorful Twin Lakes.

The views from the top of the little summit NE of Gibbon Pass were impressive in the bright sunshine.
