Sheep River Trail - Turner Valley to Bluerock Road Bike on 21-May-2010
The way out was quite challenging with the wind at 30 gusting to 60, but the temperature was comfortable, and the ride back was a breeze!
We headed off from the hill just outside of Turner Valley (well actually Sim insisted on riding right from Coyote Moon) at around 10:15. The wind was strong enough that level stretches seemed like they were uphill and only a few of the steeper downhills on this rolling highway provided respite from the hard peddling. It took us over three hours to ride the 38 km to the Junction Creek picnic area at the end of the highway..

Sim, Christine, Alda and Carl at Sheep River Falls picnic groundAll the way we persevered mainly because we knew that the way back would be much much easier. And so it was. We could frequently cruise along at 30 km without peddling and in seemingly still air as we travelled with the wind.

Much easier heading home!We were back at the car around 4.
Many thanks to three lovely ladies (Alda, Christine, Sim) for joining me, Carl (C/S).
