Egypt Lake weekend/shelter accommodation/. Off-Trail Hike on 19-Sep-2

Interesting weekend with excellent group.
Saturday- After riding bus to Sunshine Village we hiked from there to Egypt Lake shelter via Healy Pass. Scenery was spectacular. After checking in shelter we explored around- Egypt, Scarab and Mummy lakes. We saw fish in creek, bear in Healy pass meadows and goats around Mummy Lake. Socializing later with candles and red wine planning next year allready. 21 km, 550 m el.gain.
Sunday- Before going out via Healy Pass trail we went to Redearth Pass and Talc Lake for interesting loop with a little bit history involved. Visited old mine where talc was discovered by Col. O'Hara in 1895 and different companies were mining there sporadically until 1944. That was very interesting little scramble. Hike out was uneventfull ending in Drake as allways.
