West Wind Pass and Windtower Scramble on 18-Jun-2009
After several days of significant rain and storms, we finally got one good enough to call a hike to a peak. We had mixed sun and cloud with a little rain.
The hike to West Wind Pass was uneventful on a well-used easy to follow trail.

Break under lowering skies at West Wind Pass The worst rain was a heavy drizzle that fell for most of the half hour or so that we were traversing the rock bands between the pass and the back of Windtower.

OT5 or SC5?For the record, the three coordinators on the trip agreed that the SC5 rating for this trip is warranted. However it might be the easiest SC5 and therefore a good introduction to scrambling. By the time we were on the backside of the destination the sun was out and it stayed out for most of the rest of the day.

A rainbow below us!

Heading up the back of Windtower All of us were at the peak after about 2 3/4 hours.
