Mt Cory / Alberta Centennial Mtn Expedition Scramble on 16-Jul-2005

Despite the rain in Calgary, the determined bunch came out for a day in the mountains. We started the hike in dry conditions and were not met by rain until we were about 2 hours up the mountain. We split into three groups and spread out our effort. However, two of the groups melted back together and enjoyed each other's company. Only one hiker turned back and patiently waited in the car.

Start of hike was dry, Randy, Cordula, Nathon (photographer for ACME), and Charlene enjoy the easy (but steep) trail up the first part of Mt Cory.

The rest endured some rain and lots of cloud up top. We were able to eat our lunch on the south peak in dry conditions. Still a cornice separating the north summit from the south summit. We were all happy to enjoy the south summit and placed the new canister there.Participants were (top row, left to right) Allan Mathies, Evelyn Mathies, Damian Gannon, Charlene Anthony, Cordula Ritsch, Photini Papadatou, Ghulam Jamro, Jermoe Demerest, and Jim Powers.

(front row, right to left) Gerry Smith, John Duerdon, Irene Willet, Jeanne Repp, Yolande de Visser, Randy Jackson, Rex Westbrook, Lorri Badrin and Ken MacDonald.
