Hector Glacier
Skiers descend the upper reaches of the Hector glacier. This glacier is often descended unroped but one should be certain of the conditions for there are several big crevasses. Note the faint line of ski tracks on the western side of the glacier which is the normal route (to avoid the major crevasses).
