STICKER SHOCK! 71 BUCK TRIP INFLATED TO 80 BUCKS WITH ADDED FEATURES! This trip was advertised as 71 bucks plus GST (great summit time) for Christmas shopping avoidance, but the final "tab" came to 80 Bucks as Invoiced below:

One Buck: Large buck deer with magnificent rack of antlers, which ran across the Sibblad road in front of us, obviously aware it is hunting season.

One Buck: buck rabbit spotted by Dorothy-Ann. We did'nt know if she could tell the difference between a buck and a doe, but are giving the benefit of the doubt.

70 Bucks: Seventy Buck Valley and Ridge, where we enjoyed lunch at the top of the cliff in calm conditions and 2 C, with spectacular view of Mt Bogart, Sparrowhawk, Lougheed, Baldy Mountain (was Bernie waving back at us?), Barrier and Moose Mt. lookouts, 3 Sisters, Cascade Mt., Mt. Fable and Yamnuska (was that a fanatic climber with wire cutters in his hand heading for the new cable?) Nobody found the early rancher's lost wallet containing the $70.

One Buck: Ole Buck Mountain, our second hike of the day, again with dry, soft trail, no mud, no snow, no ice, in mid-December?

Seven Bucks: the recommended gas contribution.

Nil: we didn't have a buck saw, although several trees down over the Ole Buck trail need to be cut up and removed.

That came to 80 Bucks and we all felt we got our "money's worth"!

Two people headed home after the first hike and two, despite this being a shopping avoidance trip, headed for Banff to shop.

Participants: Dennis Nolan, Wally Drew, John, Herb Kariel, Madeleine Mangels, Karel Silovsky, Anne Moran, Doug and Sue Davison, Kay Kittle, Cristina Popp, Kim, Ray Corbeil, Del Lavallee, Annete LeFaive, Dorothy-Ann, guest Ewa Smithwick, two canine mascots (Skyler and Jasmine) and Carl Potter, co-ordinator and scribe.
