Arnica Lake Snowshoeing on 4-Feb-2012

We spent the day off trail, trail breaking and not seeing another person all day - how good does it get?!

It all started when we decided we'd rather park at Boom Lake instead of along the highway (the Arnica trailhead is not plowed in the winter). And so ensued an off trail adventure from the Boom Lake parking lot to the bridge at the end of Vista Lake. From there we followed the summer trail, but had to break trail in unconsolidated snow.

We ended up not going all the way to Arnica Lake, but no one seemed to mind. Thanks to Janice, Karen, Trudy, Rita, Aldis and Brenda for their sense of adventure and a great day in the mountains! David c/s/p
