Ink Pots and upper Johnston Creek Off-Trail Skiing on 23-Dec-2011

Nice day out, good snow, temps about -11c to -4c, mixed sun and cloud and a broken trail to about 2 km beyond the Ink Pots...........

We extended it further before turning around at 1.30pm and found time to visit the ice above Johnson Creek. One member broke a binding but secured a sufficiently good repair for minimal impact on the trip.

Also saw a wolf from the 1A near the parking lot.

Roads in excellent dry condition.

We were skiing from about 9.30am to 4.30pm. Most of us used half length skins while John managed with wax. Thanks to Carl, Stuart, Damian and John for joining (and waiting for) me C&S David.
