Burstall Pass & telemark slopes Off-trail Skiing on 16-Dec-2011
We skied the usual route up to north Burstall Pass and back again in about 5.5 hours. Below treeline the snow was reasonable with a few inches of powder on a firm base, Above treeline it was windswept. The temperature remained a few degrees below freezing, which in the gusty wind felt cold. Sun and cloud came and went. I would describe it as a reasonable trip but nothing special. The snow was good for touring but poor for turns.
No photos for this trip, but thanks to Ron, Douglas, Philip, Peter, Sheila and Stuart equipment repair man for joining C&S David.
