Trip Date: 24-Jul-2010
Activity: Trail Hike
Destination: Jumpingpound Mtn from Lusk Pass PL
Report:

Another sun-filled day in the mountains. We started off from the roadside pullout opposite the trailhead at 10:15 with a temperature of about 17.

First viewpoint - Cox Hill

We had our first view of Cox Hill after an hour or so. The next 1/2 km is the steepest part of the trail to the Cox Hill Junction where we re-grouped.

Flowers in the forested area

Flowers on the meadows

Flowers on the mountain's rocky slopes

Lots of flowers to see and identify (and a few we couldn't name).

The Ridge Not Taken - Jumpingpound ridge

Lunch on Jumpingpound Mtn

Lunch was at the official mountain top, 360 degree views. Stretching northwards is the rest of the ridge which we looked at but didn't bother hiking, leaving it for another day. Finally time to leave, meander back across the meadows and down through the trees to reach our cars shortly after 4.

Reluctantly starting down from the top

Mountains and Meadows
