Then it was across the Connector, which has become much easier to follow, and up to the pass between Picklejar and Mist. There we enjoyed a break before the steep climb up to the summit ridge.
As we went across the ridge, the flower experts gathered to admire a white shooting star.
The rest of us headed up to the summit where we sheltered on the lee side, enjoying the views and a late lunch. By the time we reached the top of the second hill heading south, the weather had turned much nicer and some of us enjoyed a short nap on the top in the sun, while others looked at the female blossoms on the larches. Then we headed down the south ridge, enjoying the views, the flowers and conversations.
With a relaxed "flower pace", the trip took about 7 hours. Thanks to Philip, Rosanne, Bill, Aldis, Arnold, Nancy, Ron, Barb, Laszlo and Sue for joining me on a very pleasant day in the mountains. Doug (C/S/P)
