Wanting to get out today, but running out of ideas with the warm but snowy weather, I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested in this short trek up a trail which is usually very busy on a Saturday. It turned out that I had the most participants I think I've had on a trip before! Arriving at the trailhead, snow was beginning to fall and there was a significant amount on the trail. Thankfully, we were not the first group there. As we trekked upward, the snow subsided, the sun made several appearances and there was virtually no wind so layers were shed and smiles were plentiful. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch and nice views at the top. While there were a handful of others on the trail, I'm pretty sure we will never find the Yamnuska approach less busy than it was today so a lucky choice for a shoulder season Saturday.

Thanks so much to Janice,Teresa,Jane,Cathy,Barbara,Ingrid,Deborah,Deb,Tina,Andrew,Laura and beautiful canine Rambler “Sam” for joining me today!

Pictures from my official photographer, Teresa, as well as the view from our lunch spot from Deb S.

As we hoped with a later start, a few hikers had broken the trail for us. There was more snow than expected!

From the first viewpoint - the heart shaped lake

Sam the German Shepherd, chillin' in the snow. Herding humans is exhausting!
