As we drove up the hill to the parking lot at Cross Conservation Area, we entered the fog. Although the fog gradually dissipated, it wasn’t until we reached the Pine Creek Lookout that sun finally showed.

The trail was not in very good shape , as many humans and cows left prints in the snow that had melted, then frozen into lumps.

Into the Sun at Last. Note Trail Conditions.

However, the leisurely pace enabled lots of conversations and even a little envy, as one of the participants was flying out to Hawaii the next day. After a lunch stop at the West Side Lookout we headed back to the parking lot.

On the way back. Finally just packed snow.

On the way, we saw two deer in the meadow off the Aspen Trail. Back at the cars about 1:45.

Thanks to Darlene, Linda, Robert, Carolyn, Enrique, Janet and George for joining me. Brian C/S/P
