Activity:
Trail hike
Trip name:
King Creek Ridge 338222
Coordinator:
Kevin
Report:

Our group of 13 started up from the trailhead shortly before 10 AM. We split into two groups, one going at a faster pace and the other at a more moderate pace. The trail up to the ridge was muddy and icy in sections - so everyone wore their microspikes. Getting to the South end of the ridge was the usual grunt up the very steep trail. We stopped to regroup at the South end of the ridge and for a short rest break. From there it was a pleasant walk North along the ridge to the summit cairn.

We descended a short distance from the cairn into the trees to have our lunch.

We didn't have any sun, but the temperature was mild for this time of year and there was only a mild breeze.

After a summit cairn photo, the group retraced their steps back down to the South end of the ridge.

Heading back down the ridge

Even with microspikes, the steep trail down from the ridge was a challenge given the slippery conditions. There were a few muddy behinds, including the coordinators, but we all made it back to the vehicles without incident.

Thanks to Rosanne,Philip,Bill,Dean,Phyllis,Carl,Janice,Nardi,Jane,Barbara,Gordon and Ingrid for their company and for joining me Kevin (C/S) on a November outing in the mountains of K Country.
