Instead of turning east from Paddy's Flat along Elbow Valley Trail towards Sulphur Springs Trail, we turned west on Elbow, connected with the Pneuma bike trail after 3.7 km and then crossed over to the Sulphur Springs Trail to reach our normal lunch spot. This Pneuma loop is popular with the Calgary Weekend Hikers club and is the same distance (11 km) as the usual Rambler version from Paddy's Flat.

The sun came out at noon and we enjoyed a warm walk back along the Riverview trail.
