There were lots of snow geese on the pond just west of the JumpingPound overpass, but we didn’t see any on the Bow River during the hike. We started at the Middle Lake parking lot this time in order to avoid the snow on the off trail portion of the hike that we would have encountered had we left from the information Center. There were still some icy sections on the trails and most people put on traction devices after lunch.

At the Springs Viewpoint

Although it was quite windy, most of the hike was in sheltered areas, so we didn’t notice the wind until we returned to Middle Lake. No flowers to be seen yet – spring has not quite arrived there yet.
