We left the parking lot at 9:30 am and made our way through the trees to start the serious climb up to Olympic Summit.

We stopped occasionally to admire the views

and catch our breath (at least I needed to) before clambering up the rest of the trail.

. As the morning progressed the weather became foggier and wetter

so some of us huddled under a rock to eat lunch before descending. On the way down, the weather cleared and by the time we were in the trees we were surrounded by golden colours.
