Trip Report
Trip Date:
18-Sep-2020
Activity:
Off-Trail hike
Trip name:
West end of Odlum ridge
Coordinator:
Francisco
Report:

We didn't have any problems finding the well flagged trail and made good time to Odlum col. From there it's a short climb to the first top of the day where we had our lunch. The larches were at their very best compensating for the hazy views,After a couple of ups and downs we reached the col below the West peak of Odlum ridge and our chosen route down the drainage back to the cars , easy at first in open larch forest but eventually becoming a real bushwhack with a few nasty stretches. Everybody made it safely with only a few scratches ( never wear shorts in the bush)

Storm creek crossing

Past the big meadow on the way to Odlum col

The first rocky top

Suzy on the way up

Group shot

Looking back at the ridge from top #3

Easier travel in the creekbed

A nasty bushwhack

Thanks to Jeannette,Harold,Ulrikephotos,Audrey,Evan,Suzy,Michael,Ingrid,David.for joining me in this ridgewalk new to all of us.Francisco C/S
