With a chilly -17C at the parking lot and an icy bottom trail section, it was with hope for descent snow on Panorama ridge that we convinced ourselves that it was a nice day to be out and in any case we were getting a good workout!

We started to climb to Taylor Lake at around 9:30. It is now confirmed skins work well on ice! On the way up Bill noticed some trapper’s tea leaves.

As we got to the lake and stop for a quick lunch we noticed we had some company. Two wolverines were running along the lake. For some of us it was exciting, as we had never seen them before. Bill got a little closer and managed to take a picture and also some very cool shots of the tracks. Thanks Bill

Wolverine using skier up track!

Following an old up track, which the wolverine used as well, we climbed up to the ridge and enjoyed the warmth of the sun and of course the great views and company.

time to take the skins off and have some fun. Panorama ridge

The snow was very descent back down to the Lake was pretty good and the ski out turned out to be better than anticipated (or not as bad as anticipated!). A bit slow and a lot of scraping to avoid breaking bones but we all came out in one piece and we were back at the car by 4PM.

Thanks to Bill for the wolverine photos and to Philip, Arnold, Damian, John, John and Clifton for joining me Celine C/S /P for a good day out.
