It was a good day for early December, but there was a biting north wind at the parking lot, so we headed for the Tiger Lily loop to find protection in the trees and the coulee, finding the steep trail very icy but no match for our trusty Microspikes. We soon saw a herd of deer, the first of about 20 for the day.

How many deer do you see?

We ran into more wind on the Badger loop but were able to remove the spikes at the top of the hill. It was pleasant in the valley, where we had lunch before doing the Bow River loop.

We saw more deer on several occasions.

We returned via the Yodel loop, where ice forced us to don the spikes again, before hitting the dry paved bike path back to the headquarters. We were back to the cars by 2.  Our mascot Spektor was on good behaviour the whole trip.  Carl, coordinator and scribe, with participants Cristina & Damian.
