We had great weather and a bluebird sky for Ship’s Prow Peak. This mountain was a first for seven of the Rambler’s which made for an epic day. Everything was pleasant, even the bushwhack. It took us just over an hour to exit the trees where we connected to the rib and followed it to an open slope. We took a few breaks along the ridge and reached the summit around 1 p.m. Here we lingered awhile and took in the amazing views of peaks all around, from Mt Assiniboine to the Massif Range in Banff National Park. During lunch, we observed a group of CORA members descend to The Prow and continue along its ridge. After about an hour it was time to leave and we opted to return the same way rather than descend into the gully that is frequented by scramblers. I couldn’t have asked for a better team to accompany on this day. Thank you Jane, Yoko, Zorica, Gary, Susan, Jeannette and Bruce for a spectacular day in the mountains. Yours truly, Christine M c/s/p.
