A sunny day and a mostly dry trail combined for a pleasant hike. There are still not many flowers out – just violets, buffalo beans and some crocuses.

Coming off the north trail

The group camp where we stop for lunch was occupied by a whole bunch of army cadets. The guy in charge said it was OK for us to stop there for lunch – he even offered some army rations (which we declined) !

There was one 6 foot patch of ice in a gully on the way back which was easily circumvented. We were back at the cars about 2:30 PM.
