Although Ribbon Falls isn’t among the more spectacular hikes, it’s a nice spring trip for easy distance, particularly on days when the forecast calls for rain showers. As it turned out, we didn’t get any rain (although there were lots of showers all around us), and the forecast had the additional benefit of keeping everyone else away - we saw only 2 other people!

The walk is very pleasant because you are close to the crystal-clear creek for most of the trip, and it was nice to see that spring has finally arrived in the mountains. Lots of butterflies ranging from blues to swallowtails, and quite a few species of flowers including orchids. After the requisite viewing of the falls, we had a comfortable lunch in the campground before heading back.

Thanks to Chris and Margo for an enjoyable walk and interesting conversation, from coordinator Ingrid.
