Everyone found the newly upgraded (but still no toilets) Bow Valley Trail Parking Lot by the 10 AM meeting time. The weather was that of a typical May day – hot in the sun and cold in the shade, but the trails was mostly dry with the occasional muddy patch. We hiked in a counter clockwise loop, passing Reed Lake in the morning, lunch at the “Golf Course” underneath Yamnuska, with a brief stop at the severely depleted Crescent Lake in the afternoon.

I think everyone agreed that the best part of the hike was during the last 2 hours, when we walked through meadows below Loder and Doorjam peaks. The spring flower season was just beginning and we saw Shooting Stars and Three Toed Avens amongst the still prevalent crocuses.
