The sun made only occasional appearances and it wasn't as warm as expected with a cool wind blowing in open areas. In one hour we were on top of the northwest outlier where we had a brief rest before descending to the col to pick up the Powderface trail . We found a sheltered spot for our lunch and proceded south along the ridge , the steep trail to the saddle was in good condition with only a few patches of easily avoidable snow. Back at the cars at 3 pm
