The day dawned bright and sunny in Calgary with the temperature about +8c at 8.00am rising to +20c on return at 3.00pm. Unfortunately it was not so good on Wasootch Peak, but very reasonable out of the wind.

We set off about 9.00am in hazy sunshine with even a few spots of rain. The trip is/was mostly a steep trail (TL4) hike with a few scrambly bits. The trail is fairly obvious with some cairns and arrows in the river bed to get you started. Near treeline we stopped to regroup and a young lady who had temporarily joined us continued upwards. We made the higher south summit by 11.00am and 3 Ramblers moved quickly over to grab the north summit only about 10 minutes away (1-way).

The rest of us enjoyed an early lunch and after the "obligatory" photo started down away from the cool wind. We stopped about halfway down out of the wind for another lunch break before returning to the cars by 1.30pm. We passed several small groups who were ascending. Overall a good early season short scramble. No microspikes used or needed.
