It wasn't a bad day , it wasn't great snow, but a great group, so we all had fun. 9:30 start -8 light wind overcast.
The first goal was the Chester col valley . First problem: the creek was open so we had to go almost to the lake and cross the creek on a dodgy crossing.

Creek crossing
The uptrack was of course not optimal - a little too much bush whacking.
Blue routes taken yellow spots skied
Beautiful snow below treeline, severely wind affected above, with some lumpy avi debris in spots. We did two short runs in acceptable snow with a lunch break between the runs.

We found an open run back down to the creek avoiding the bush. We went over to the next valley staying low. Hindsight showed this to be a poor decision. We found an uptrack which was somewhat ugly being overly steep and overly bushy. Did one run on the south facing slopes on slightly better snow.
Traversing in to the second slope
Exited via the much superior elephant rocks trail hitting the cars at 4:30.
