The previous day (Monday), I was wait-listed for a transceiver practice. Since this was non-urgent for me and the weather forecast was good, I eventually gave up waiting and posted this ridge hike at 3.00pm Monday for this Tuesday hike. Although I should have made this decision earlier I was lucky to get some very pleasant company.

We left the nearly empty Wasootch Parking Lot by 9.00am. It was about +2c and rose to +8c by our return at 2.15pm. After only a few metres we all donned micro-spikes which we used throughout the day. They were very useful on the steeper shady spots but probably unnecessary on the ridge itself. The sun shone all day and the wind gusted as forecast for a very pleasant ridge walk to the second cairn before the scrambling section. We enjoyed lunch near this cairn before returning to the cars the same way we had ascended. A great day in good weather with good company. Stats: 11km, 760m gain in 5:15 hrs.
