What a gorgeous day! We started out in chilly temperatures but soon warmed up, energized by the fresh snow and frost on the trees and blue sky above. First lunch was at the top of the NW mini-summit on the “regular” Powderface Ridge, and then we descended back to Three Trail Pass and crossed over to the north ridge. By this time the temperature had climbed well above zero and we all took off layers in the heat of the sun. After touring the high points, we sat down for another break, before reluctantly starting back down into the shade of the valley. Most remarkably, we had no wind all day. NO WIND! So it was a bit of a surprise stepping out of the car back in Calgary and feeling the chill.

Many thanks to the participants Sim and Rob for joining me on this scenic trip, from coordinator Ingrid. Over 19 km and 800m in just over 6 hours.
