There was a bear in area warning sign at the trailhead but other than a couple of grouse we didn't see any other wildlife nor signs of it. With a late start of 10 am and a relaxed pace it was close to 1 pm when we arrived at the first cairn. We started along the ridge but with a strong cold wind decided to cut the trip short and have a rather short lunch in the lee side. Instead of returning the same way we choose to follow the pleasant S.W ridge and go down west to intersect the Mist creek trail. It's quite a steep descent first on grassy slopes ,then open forest and just at the bottom some pesky alder bushes. Back at the cars at 4pm.
